Why does my Mac still sleep even though I set an override?

AwakeQubit overrides are cleared automatically when the duration or until-time expires. Check the menu bar popover — if the override has expired, simply set a new one. If your Mac is sleeping before the override expires, make sure AwakeQubit is running (look for the sun icon in your menu bar).

Does AwakeQubit work with the lid closed (clamshell mode)?

When the lid is closed and no external display is connected, macOS suspends most processes — including AwakeQubit. This is a macOS security and power policy that apps cannot override without a special system entitlement. If you need the Mac awake in clamshell mode, connect an external display or use a tool that runs as a system daemon.

Why does AwakeQubit need iCloud?

Pro features sync state between your Mac and iPhone using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. This lets your iPhone receive live assertion updates from your Mac without a custom server. iCloud access is only used when you have Pro and are signed in to the same Apple ID on both devices. The free Mac app does not require iCloud.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

On your iPhone or iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → AwakeQubit Pro → Cancel Subscription.
On Mac: App Store → [Your Name] → Manage Subscriptions.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged.

I bought the lifetime plan. Does it transfer to a new Mac?

Yes. Lifetime purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any Mac where you're signed in with the same Apple ID. Use Restore Purchases in the app if Pro features are not active after reinstalling.

The app isn't appearing in my menu bar after install. What do I do?

Launch AwakeQubit from your Applications folder. macOS Sonoma and later may hide menu bar icons when the bar is full — click the overflow area (⌘ + drag the menu bar) to reveal hidden icons or move AwakeQubit to a visible position.

How do I send diagnostics?

Open the AwakeQubit menu bar popover, click ⚙ Settings, and choose Copy Diagnostics. This copies a plain-text summary of current assertions, app version, and system info to your clipboard. Paste it into your support email so we can investigate faster.
